Help & FAQ

Everything you need to know about learning and teaching on Teloquia.

For learners

Use the search and filter by language, level, price and focus area. Profiles show qualifications, reviews and often an intro video, so you can choose with confidence.
Pick a time on the tutor’s profile and confirm the booking. You can pay per lesson or use lesson credit. At the agreed time you both meet in the video lesson, directly in your browser, no download.
You can buy hour packages with a tutor (e.g. 10 or 20 hours) at a discount. The price per hour is fixed at purchase, credit is valid for 12 months, and one credit equals one lesson. You redeem credit simply by booking a lesson.
Yes. Remaining credit can be transferred to another tutor. If that tutor’s rate is higher, a small additional payment may apply; the validity period stays the same.
The lesson runs in your browser. Open the booking and start the video lesson with one click at the agreed time, with nothing to install.
Yes. Under “My lessons” you can cancel yourself. Free of charge until 24 hours before the lesson. The hour is credited back to your account. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the lesson, the hour is charged.
If you’re not satisfied with a lesson you attended, you can submit a guarantee request within 7 days, choosing a reason and adding a short note. After review we either credit the hour back or refund your payment (max. 2 approved cases per account). The guarantee does not apply if you did not attend.
If the tutor cancels at least 24 hours ahead, you get the hour credited back (no goodwill). If they cancel less than 24 hours ahead or do not show up, you get the hour back plus a 10% goodwill credit on the amount actually paid for that lesson (after discounts and codes). Report it under “My lessons”. If attendance in the video room is documented, use the satisfaction guarantee instead.
Enter the code in the field below the packages on a tutor’s profile and click “Apply”. The discounted price is shown immediately and deducted at checkout.
Yes. We automatically send an e-mail reminder before an upcoming lesson to both you and your tutor.
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never store full card data. Refunds usually take 5 to 10 working days.

For tutors

Create an account and set up your teaching profile with your qualifications and experience. We verify tutors before activation, and your listing goes live after review.
You set your hourly rate. Discounted hour packages are generated from it automatically, so students can buy credit with you.
Payments run through Stripe. Payouts are weekly, for lessons completed at least three days earlier. Teloquia keeps a tiered commission: 18% from 0 lessons, 15% from 25, 12% from 100, and 10% from 300. For a trial lesson at 50% off, Teloquia and you share the discount. You're paid on 75% of your hourly rate, minus the commission for your tier. At €40 an hour on the 18% tier, that's €24.60. Your first lesson with a new learner carries no extra commission; your normal tier applies. If it's a trial lesson, your pay is based on 75% of your hourly rate, as above.
If the learner cancels at least 24 hours ahead, the hour is credited back. If they do not show up, wait 15 minutes, then mark the no-show in the product. The lesson counts as taken and you are paid. The learner may dispute the mark with support within 48 hours. If you cancel at least 24 hours ahead, the learner gets the hour back with no goodwill. If you cancel less than 24 hours ahead or do not show up, the learner gets the hour back plus a 10% goodwill credit on the amount actually paid for that lesson (after discounts and codes). Refunds usually take 5 to 10 working days.
